For Promotion of People’s Health
Heat wave is forecasted to be all time high this year due to abnormally high temperature from El Niño.
When humans are exposed to high temperature, they are likely to suffer heatstroke or sunstroke.
In order to protect people from the impact of heat wave, Red Cross volunteers are actively conducting hygiene promotion activities.
Well aware of the importance of hygiene promotion in protecting and promoting people’s health, RC volunteers are disseminating health information on various topics like “Let’s prevent sunstroke and heatstroke”, “Health management in high temperature” , etc. on one hand, and are offering, on the other, simple information to help people better understand how to prevent various sicknesses caused by heat wave.
Also, they recommend several practical measures to people such as wearing hats with large visors or carrying parasols to protect themselves from direct sunlight when they go outdoors during the day and also wearing hats or headscarves when they are working outdoors.
Such activities of the RC volunteers are greatly contributing to protecting people’s health from the impact of heat waves.
