“World First Aid Day”
People encounter critical situations such as sudden collapse or injury due to various reasons in the course of their lives.
As the basic and vital humanitarian act, FA takes important position in saving and recovering the lives of people who become suddenly ill or injured.
Nowadays, the ever-worsening global warming gives rise to frequent natural disasters and traffic accidents all over the world, threatening the lives of people's lives at any time. This reality makes it demand for all of us to acquire the knowledge and skill of FA, which are essential for life-saving.
Given the importance of FA, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), which plays a leading role as a trainer and provider of FA in the world, designated in 2000 the second Saturday of September every year the World First Aid Day (WFAD) and has observed it annually since then.
This day serves as an excellent opportunity to introduce and disseminate FA to more people as well as an important opportunity to highlight the role of Red Cross and Red Crescent organizations in FA training and service.
The purpose of marking this day is to raise public awareness about the role of FA in saving the lives of people in daily life and in emergency situations.
The Red Cross Society of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK RCS) is also conducting various activities to disseminate the FA knowledge for life saving to the people on the occasion of the WFAD.
